This study was conducted to determine the potential of discarded plastic banner from the advertising industry in Kemaman, Terengganu. Three types of advertising industry are involved in the study. They are: The advertising industry represented by Orchid Design And Printing Sdn; plastic recycling industry represented by RD paper Sdn.Bhd and statutory authorities, Kemaman Treasury Council (MPK). Disposal and open burning of plastic waste is practiced by the majority of banner advertising industries contributing to waste and environmental pollution. In order to control this, a detailed study is conducted to identify potential use of an alternative to replace plastic banner creative products. The study focuses on the plastic banner mainly on two issues. The first is a study on the type of plastic banner. This involves two processes. The first process is separating the color and type of plastic banner, and the second is to measure the length, width and weight of plastic banner. The second study focuses on the production process by combustion. Findings from this study indicate that the method of using plastic waste as an alternative to banner creative products is a viable approach for delivering value to the waste and prevent- ing environmental pollution. Thus, the production of creative products as a result of this study can provide income and result in diversifica- tion of existing plastic banner in the commercial market.
