Pesticide pollution of surface and ground water due to massive agricultural activities has been recognized as a major problem in many countries. This is because of the persistence of pollutants in aquatic environments and the consequent potential adverse health effects. In this study, the hydrogen peroxide-based advanced oxidation treatment of metamifop which present in Nominee-M herbicides formulation. Metamifop is an acetyl-Coenzyme A carboxylase inhibitor that belongs to the group of aryloxyphenoxy propionates. To aid the degradation and detoxification of metamifop, the treatment occur by way of irradiates the samples under the ultraviolet source for 3 hours by taking the sample reading in 30 minutes interval. The treatments are conducted by treating various concentration of metamifop solution as control in this experiment followed by the treatment of metamifop solution in the presence of various concentration of hydrogen peroxide. An analytical method used to measure the degradation of metamifop are High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Ultra-Violet Visible (UV-Vis) Spectroscopy. The experimental result show the presence of hydrogen peroxide facilitate the degradation of metamifop towards hundred percent before the treatment reached the first 30 minutes. Thus evidencing the properties of hydrogen peroxide as a strong oxidizer in advance oxidation process
