A study has been carried out in order to identify the physical water quality parameters presence at different growth media. Three treatments were used which are control treatment (T1), gravel (T2) and coconut husk with charcoal (T3). Water spinach (lpomoea aquatic) and tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) were used in this study. For planting method, Ipomoea aquatic has been cultivated by using double tier plant tray aquaponics method with growing fish. The physical water quality for aquaponics system was determined by using the in-situ methodology. Parameters tested are pH value, dissolved oxygen (DO), temperature, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solid (TDS) and salinity. By comparing the physical quality and water quality standards for irrigation, effect of using the water from the fish towards treatments can be determined. The experimental results show that T2 was the best growth media that give an optimum value of physical water quality parameters although the water temperature of the system was high. There was no significant difference (p < 0.05) of all parameters among treatments.
