Abstract

In the study, the perception of smallholders in FELDA scheme in Kelantan toward integrated farming in oil palm plantation was determined. A set of questionnaire was used to collect the data from 30 respondents. The questionnaire was in Likert scale form which give the respondent five choice of answer in scale form. The scale were 1 represent Strong Disagree, 2 for Disagree, 3 for Neutral, 4 for Agree and 5 for Strongly Agree. The acceptance level of FELDA smallholders in cash-crop integration farming also determined in this study using the Likert scale questionnaire. There are four component used to determine the perception and acceptance level of the FELDA smallholders which were economy, environment, government policies and management. Factorial analysis was used to check the validity of the data. If the questionnaire is construct valid, all items together represent the underlying construct. Descriptive analysis was used to summarized and describe data. Descriptive statistics was used to describe the basic features of the data in a study and also provide simple summaries about the sample and the measures. The demographic factor like level of education also can affect the respondent perception on cash-crop integrated farming in oil palm plantation.
