Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the microbiological study of fermented rubber, Hevea brasiliensis seeds and the effect of fermented rubber, H. brasiliensis seeds on the growth parameter of Red Hybrid Tilapia, Oreochromis sp. The rubber seed (RS) kernel were dehulled and then blended before dried. RS was mixed with 20% of molasses and then stored in dark place for 35d. The microbial analyses were taken on Od, 7d, 14d, 21d, 28d, and 35d. The obtained results revealed that Total Plate Count (TPC) and Total Yeast Count (TYC) were significantly difference at P<0.05. Total LAB Count (TLABC) and Total Mould Count (TMC) were not significantly difference at P<0.05. Data were analysed statistically using ANOVA and if it shows a marked influence followed by Tukey test. Additionally, 20.26 ± 0.363, 0.66 ± 0.011 and 6.91 ± 0.124 of Growth Rate (GR), Specific Growth Rate (SGR) and Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) recorded respectively. The Red Hybrid Tilapia. Oreochromis sp. was resulted to obtained 100% of survival rate on the 28d of the study. The obtained results, proved that the fermented rubber seed (FRS) were recommended as a substitutes feed to Orechromis sp.
