Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.)is cultivated for its tuberous root for human consumption and livestock feed. In Malaysia, sweet potato is not the major crop and has low yield and productions. Therefore, effort should be taken to increase the production by increasing the planting area. The purpose of the study was to investigate the feasible growth and yield of the sweet potato in Jeli District, Kelantan. Four local clones collected from different regions in Kelantan and Terengganu and one imported sweet potato Japanese clone were investigated for their growth and yield. The result showed that, all clones could growth and produced well in Jeli District, Kelantan. The yield of clone ranged from 5.4 t/ha to 12 t/ha with the highest was reached by Vitato(12 t/ha)
