Abstract

Entrepreneurship is often claimed as a subject that only learns and teaches to academics students and not to the technical students. There are such elements in entrepreneurship such as analyze business opportunity, prepare business plan and develop new product. These elements are only learned by the academic students. Technical student do not expose to this elements and they just learn about technical skill only such as how to develop furniture. They do not exposed with the right way to develop new business and directly to be an entrepreneur that contributes to the development of Malaysian’s economic. Besides that, there are some technical students more likely to work with the company that offer jobs in a line with their course of study rather than develop career as an entrepreneur. On that account, management parties should expose these elements to them. Furthermore, support from outside organization also is important in order to influence them to be an entrepreneur. This research was focus on vocational student choosing an entrepreneur as a career after finish the study. Researcher wants to know how long they interested to be an entrepreneur as a career. There are some factors that were stated in this study. They are government support, personal motivation, unemployment rate and subject offer which will influence them in choosing of their career. This research was used quantitative method which is the used of questionnaire in order to get the data. Vocational student in several vocational institutions around Kota Bharu was selected as a respondent. The result for this study shows that all the above factors were have significant relationship with an entrepreneur as a career. That means that factor was influence vocational student in choosing entrepreneur as a career. So, all parties involve should play their role in order to encourage student to be an entrepreneur.
