Study of policy,planning and governance of nature based tourism in the Southern part of Kelantan

This research was conducted to examine the policy, Planning and Governance in Southern Kelantan. The purpose of this research was to examine the quality of nature based tourism products offers in southern part of Kelantan which is the third biggest economic contributor to Kelantan and study the role government and non-government agency's involvement in policy planning and implementation for the development of nature based tourism southern part of Kelantan. This study was conducted using survey and assessment method to gather all the necessary data regarding nature based tourism. Currently, the tourism destinations are lacking in fundamental amenities and support due the destruction caused by unregulated tourism activities. Many policies and planning have been done by the state government with the collaboration other supporting agencies in order to encourage and develops sustainable tourism in southern Kelantan. Implementation level was low due to lack of enforcement and awareness among the authorities and responsible parties.
