Abstract
Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are nano sized metal coated particles. It is considered as unique and most fascinating metal that is vital for biomedical applications. The biologically synthesised of Silver nano particles (AgNPs) using the leaf extract of Garcinia mangostana Linn (GML) a well-known medicinal plants in Asian countries. The GML leaf extract act as reducing agent and convert the silver ions to AgNPs by using environmental friendly method. UV spectrum results of 5% of AgNP shows the peak formed in the range of 300nm-400nm. The face centered cubic (fcc) crystalline shape of synthesised AgNPs GML leaf extract was further analysed by X-ray diffraction. SEM analysis shows the shape and size of synthesised AgNPs while FTIR analysis proved that synthesised AgNPs has functional groups that can act as capping agent in the bioreduction process. This research focus is the determination of antioxidant activity and antidiabetic activity. The test used was ABTS test for antioxidant assay while alpha amylase test for antidiabetic activity. This research study proved that biosynthesised GML AgNPs leaf extract have higher efficacy compared to normal GML leaf extracts. |
