There are many medicinal plants in the world which have various type of medicinal values which are yet to be exploited. In this study, Moringa oleifera or also known as drumstick tree is investigated for antidiabetic and antioxidant activity by using its' silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). A green synthesis approach was adapted to synthesise AgNPs from M.oleifera leaf and seed. The advantage of using nanoparticles in biological activity is that it will enhance the efficiency due to its small sizes. The AgNPs synthesised were characterised using UV-Vis spectroscopy (UV-Vis), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The UV-Vis spectrum shows the absorption band around 320nm to 390nm. XRD result showed the face centred cubic structure which confirms the crystallinity structure. SEM analysis revealed the shape of the AgNPs. The functional groups which acts as capping agent in the reduction process were analysed through FT-IR. M.oleifera leaf crude extract and its AgNPs showed slight significant difference in antidiabetic and antioxidant activity whereas M.oleifera seed crude extract and its' AgNPs showed significant difference in antidiabetic activity while slight significant difference was observed in antioxidant activity.
