Abstract
The present study aimed on green synthesis of biogenic silver nanoparticles using a medicinal plant known as Rhinacanthus nasutus. This silver nanoparticles which is in nano range has high surface area per volume ratio which enhance the normal biological efficacies. Biogenically synthesised silver nanoparticles could amplify the normal antioxidant and antidiabetic activity of plant extracts to higher activity. Silver nanoparticles synthesised using 6% Rhinacanthus nasutus leaves are characterised using UV-Visible spectrum which resulted in highest absorbance peak in the range of 400nm-500nm. X-ray Diffraction spectroscopy characterisation of the nanoparticles exhibited face centered cubic crystalline shape. Fourier Transform Infrared -Attenuated Total Reflectance spectroscopy exhibited the functional groups which act as capping agent in bioreduction process. Scanning Electron Microscopy used to analyse the shape of the synthesised nanoparticles. The antioxidant and antidiabetic assays showed that silver nanoparticles has higher efficacy compared to plant extracts. Antioxidant and antidiabetic activity are highly related. The silver nanoparticles synthesised from Rhinacanthus nasutus can be a promising antioxidant and antidiabetic agents. |
