In this study, green algae Chlorella vulgaris were selected as one of the most primitive commercially emerging algae species. Under certain conditions, Chlorella vulgaris species are capable of collecting as high as 60% (w/w, on a dry-weight basis) oil within cells. This study has established its strong capability for the production of algae oil. An essential algae species Chlorella vulgaris has been studied for effective algae biomass and lipid production. In this research, the medium used is Modified Detmer's Medium (MDM) as a nutrient supplied to the algae growth. This research has investigated the effect of the phosphorus concentration on media that influent the high lipid accumulation produced by microalgae Chlorella vulgaris itself. Besides, the technique used in extraction of algae oil is Soxhlet extraction with two type of solvents were used which are chloroform and ethanol. These solvents were selected based on efficiency, selectivity towards the production of different classes of lipids. Then, GC-MS analysis from algae oil extracted was revealed the common fatty acids present in the standard sample and low phosphorus concentration sample using chloroform extract were stearic acid (C18:0) and also myristic acid (C14:0). Besides, the major constituents of fatty acids were presented from the oil extracted using ethanol in the standard sample and low phosphorus concentration sample are palmitic acid (C16:0), stearic acid (C18:0), pentadecanoic acid (C15:0), and doconexent (22:6). So, the tendency of phosphorus concentration and influence of the use of solvents extraction on high lipid accumulation by Chlorella vulgaris species has been investigated for the further uses of algae oil as the findings of this research.
