General geology is the study about geological features occurred on Earth including geomorphology, stratigraphy, structural geology and historical geology of the study area. Those geological features were observed by geological mapping and petrographic analysis. Landslide Hazard Zonation by Using Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS) is producing a landslide hazard Zonation map of the study area by using remote sensing and GIS. The location of study area is Sungai Sam which include both Kuala Krai and Gua Musang, Kelantan. The objectives of the research to update the geological map of the study area in scale l:25,000, to determine the location of landslide in the study area based on satellite image and to produce landslide hazard zonation map of the study area. The main method used to update geological map is by geological mapping to observed
geological features in the study area while petrographic analysis is used for identification of rocks. The landform that made up the study area are hills and karst formation. The rocks unit found in the study area are sandstone unit, limestone unit and andesite unit aged from Permian to Triassic. The structure form are fold and foliation. In order to determine the location of landslide in the study area based on satellite image, the different value of Normalized Different Vegetation Index (NDVI) is calculated. Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) is also calculated to determine the accuracy of the landslide location between in satellite imagery and in the field. Pre-processing of satellite imagery is the first step in preparation Landslide Hazard Zonation Map and followed by extraction of slope map, stream density and aspect map from Digital Elevation Model (DEM). Those map are then overlay according to right value to get the classification on hazard map.
