This research was conducted around Kg Sungai Batu, Dabong Kelantan which cover
around 25 km2 with the coordinates between longitude 101°57’40’’ E to 102°0’0’’E and 5°20’40’’N to 5°22°40’’N for the latitude. Study area is a developing area where most of water supply needs are met by surface water. These sources may not sufficient especially during dry condition and any disruption in water supply, so there is need to find alternative source of water. In keep of view, the purpose of present study to updated the geological map of study area on scale of 1:25 000 and to demarcate the groundwater potential zone by using geophysical method. Geological mapping and electrical resistivity survey were applied to obtain basic information on groundwater occurrence and type of lithologies present in study area. Geologically the area composed of 4 lithological units that are schist, marbleized limestone, metasandstone and granite. For electrical resistivity imaging, Pole-Dipole and Schlumberger arrays were selected with 41 electrodes of 200 meter cable and spread into three locations. ABEM Terrameter LS were used to record resistivity data which process by using software RES2DINV. The result in the form two dimensional (2D) of resistivity and chargeability which provide the subsurface profile based on the ranges value which indicates the groundwater occurrence in fracture zones mostly and also sand lenses in location one and three. The finding of this research will be useful for people in study area to accommodate for different kind of purpose such as agricultures, domestic and infrastructures.
