The study focuses on the Geology of Gunung Basor in Jeli Kelantan that covered the area of 5 km × 5km with latitude of 5° 35' 16" N and longitude of 101° 53' 15" E. Located at the west part of Kelantan, Kampung Lubuk Bongor and Sg Renyok also part of the study area. The objective is to map the geology, lithology and geomorphology of the area and updating the geological map of Gunung Basor with the scale of 1:25000 and also to investigate the distribution of Rare Earth Element (REE) in Kelantan. The method for the study that has been used is by using digital mapping where the software used is ArcGIS 10.8 software where all the data come from the secondary resources. The location falls under Main Range Granite which at the Central Zone, where the upper Palaeozoic rocks associate with argillaceous and calcareous and the depositional environment is shallow marine. The forest is part of the Stong Igneous Complex, where it has a partial magmatic of granitic core that correlated to a large metasediment enclave. The geomorphology of the areas consists of Fluvial landforms and Tectonic landforms that containing a few types of landscape such as plain areas, mountainous and hilly areas. The lithology of the study area are metasediment rock, intrusive rock and alluvium. The rare earth element study in Kelantan consists of heavy (HREE) and light rare earth element (LREE) where the abundancy of LREE is higher compared to HREE. This is due to the radii atomic size of LREE thus it is more concentrated in continental crust. Cerium (Ce) has the highest concentration in the Kelantan. Mostly it can be found in granitic rock which is granitoid. These finding are important as it give significant implication to understand the distribution of REE which is correlates with granitoid distribution in Kelantan which are prominent light REE and HREE at Central Belt especially in Jeli Granite and Berangkat Tonalite.
