Abstract

The general geology of research is focused in Kampung Kalai area located at latitude 5’45’0o N and 101’42’0o E longitude to 5’43’0o N latitude and 101’44’0o longitude. The objectives of this study are to update geological map of Kampung Kalai in 1: 25, 000 scale map and to determine the petrography and geochemistry of granite in Jeli district. Various map produced included all of geological aspects of Kampung Kalai. X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) method is used to analysed geochemistry properties of granite. Two granite formation in Jeli district has been choose to study the geochemical elements of granite comprised of Granite Noring and Kenerong Leucogranite. Each of granite formation is consists of four granite samples. Harker diagram is construct for major elements of granite where the amount of each of a granite chemical constituent as a percentage of the main ingredient usually silica is depicted in this diagram. The classification of granite is presented in K2O plots against silica (SiO2), AFM diagram classification and A/CNK – A/NK.
