Abstract

This research describes the synthesis of graphene oxide-gold nanocomposite using two techniques with different times via hydrothermal 12, 24, and 36 hours and ultrasonication 3, 6,9 minutes of synthesis to observe the effect on the properties of graphene oxide-gold composite. The combination of graphene oxide with gold nanoparticles offers enhanced optical properties. Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, X-ray Diffraction (XRD), and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) were used to evaluate the graphene oxide-gold nanocomposite UV-vis analysis results show that graphene oxide gold nanocomposite was formed. By utilizing XRD analysis, the structure of graphene oxide-gold nanocomposite was further verified. The FTIR measurement demonstrated the interaction between graphene and gold nanoparticles.
