Abstract

Mambong pottery is a type of traditional ceramics produced from clay from Kampung Mambong, Kuala Krai, Kelantan, the location of the items' origin. When viewed from the standpoint of the cultural evolution of objects in the world, clay materials have long been a medium for generating both the needs of existence and expression to society. Due to the younger generation's lack of exposure to Mambong goods, Mambong pottery suffered extinct challenges and its legacy may not be preserved in the future. In terms of goods and uses, the Mambong pottery variations only had few options. Mambong products were solely single-function in term of properties. A smart-Mambong's flower pot is proposed. In this study, Buyung, one of Mambong's pottery was strengthen it properties and capability using loT technology. This system was built with connection with Arduino UNO R3 as a microcontroller and two types of sensors, Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensor and soil moisture sensor. A sensor is a device that detects input of any kind from the physical world and reacts to it. All these features were controlled by microcontroller. By showing the value of soil moisture and light intensity from a plant in real-time, this technology successfully recognises plants.
