Abstract

Drug addiction is a social problem that has long been going in and affects individuals, families, communities and countries especially in Kota Bharu. At the national level, drug are a serious threat to the extent that various actions and efforts are taken by various agencies either directly or indirectly. The public sees drugs as a problem to the local communities’ harmony. This study was undertaken at among the youth of 120 youths in the Kota Bharu. From the result, it can be conclude that mean Among almost 70% of youths use drugs because they are not exposed to drug knowledge and their harmful. Multiple steps have been taken to recover the drug addict. Although drug rehabilitation takes time and requires the commitment of the addicts themselves, it does not prevent the family from trying and find other alternatives to treat addicts for the sake of family ties and sense of responsibility to save addicts. Rehabilitation process is a challenging stage for any drug addicts hoping to free themselves from the chain of drug mistreat problem. Based on the data collected, it can conclude the mean knowledge about drug is 15.09%, the mean attitude about drug is 17.90% and the mean workplace is 16.02%. The conclusions: based on my research on drug addiction this started at a young age. Drug prevention education is extremely important and coupled with strong family support is an essential element in curbing the problem of young addicts in Kelantan and needs to be provided in a consistent manner to inculcate positive attitudes for potential recoveries. In short, addicts’ expectations and hopes are the main motivation for them to undergo rehabilitation because they have goals to achieve, not only for themselves but also for their loved ones.
