Abstract

Records contain information that serves as a
valuable resource to an organization. The ISO 9000
recognize the significance of information and records
management, but the understanding and interpretation of
the benefits of records management may be different. Thus
the value of the record provides variety of benefits which
can be categorized into the aspects of administrative,
financial, operational, legal and evidential values. The role
that information plays into the operating and transaction of
business activities is necessary so as to develop a cohesive
records plan for the quality arena. As a strategic resource,
information resource reflects some sense of good evident and
have strong relationships to the resource-based view of the
firm in the strategic management perspectives.
Organization must understand that the information is
necessary in their day-to-day operation. So as not to be
marched down the wrong road, information that has been
translated into the format of records and other form of
media transaction helps organization satisfies their records
requirements of the standards
