Abstract

Pulai Chondong is an area covered mostly by hilly area which it has been placed for mining activity. This research is conducted to produce the geological map of Pulai Condong, and to analyze major structural pattern in study area. The other objective is to investigate influence of structural pattern to cut slope potential instability. Methodology of this research is geological mapping which to identify geomorphology and geological structure in study area and engineering geological mapping which is to identify mode of slope failure and area of highly potential to has slope failure. From the observation of research, the study area consists of acid intrusic rock that has good strength but still has an area with high potential for slope failure. Petrography analysis is done to identify the type of rock. GIS is used to digitize the updated map. Stereonet is used to obtain area that has high possibility of slope failure. In conclusion, the study area is stable and it is highly recommended that this research is proceeded with RMR and RQD.
