Abstract

Administratively, the study area is located at Bili-Bili area, Parangloe subdistrict, Gowa regency, South Sulawesi province. Astronomically, the study area is located at longitude 119° 34” 0’ E - 119°36” 30’ E and latitude 5° 16” 0’ S – 5° 18” 30’ S. Purpose of the study is to determine the characteristic of Camba Formation through physical characteristics and thin section analysis. The study is concern on geological aspect including kind of rock, existence of fossil, mineral distribution, and stratigraphy general study. Based on lithostratigraphy, the Camba Formation is consist of interfingering unit between tuff unit and volcanic breccia unit, and basalt intrusion. Tuff unit is made up by 3 member which is limestone member, volcanic breccia member and tuff member. Breccia unit consist of limestone member. The basalt unit overflow the breccia unit and tuff unit and.
