Abstract

Ulu Muda Pedu is located in Kuala Nerang, Kedah that is in the East part of Kedah. It represents the series of Semanggol Formation that aged from Late Triassic to Middle Triassic that obtaining three unit which are conglomerate unit, rhythmic unit and chert unit. The study area is dominated with clastic sedimentary rock that been determined from the petrography and thin-section method. The area was deposited under alluvial deposits which is meandering river due to the fining upward sequence grain size, fine grain sediments found and the erosional surface between sandstone and shale found. The depositional environments been identify using the stratigraphy column analysis method.
