Abstract

Geological research includes lithology, geological structure, geomorphology stratigraphy and petrography in Kg Baru Sg Rual of Jeli district, northwest of the Kelantan state, Peninsular Malaysia was done. The total area of the research area is 25km² at 5°39'35'' to 5°42'18'' N in latitude, 101°48'40" to 101°51'22" in longitude. The objectives of the research are to update geological map in the study are and to identify mineral and textures present of the igneous and metamorphic rocks under thin section. The lithology found in the study area where gneiss, granite and alluvial. This research was conducted by doing fieldwork (mapping) and laboratory analysis. Considered aspect in fieldwork is observation towards lithology for every unit rocks found, geomorphology and structural geology. Laboratory analysis includes analyzing hand specimen, thin section observation and manual point counting using classification rocks by IUGS.
