Abstract

The slope failures have contributed to the engineering studies on the slope failures at KESEDAR Renok , Gua Musang road which located at Kelantan. In general, the study area is classified as hilly to mountainous areas with sedimentary rocks which main lithology are shale, sandstone, mudstone, siltstone and phylite. There also has intrusion of acidic rocks and grain size of mineral is medium to coarse caused by slow cooling magma process. Multiple geological structures such as faults, joined and fold has been identify at study area. Main objective of this study is to produce geological map, analyze slope failure and use Electrical Resistivity Imaging (ERI) method to investigate slope failure. To achieve this objective, multiple methods have been used include geological mapping, petrography, structural analysis, GIS applications and RES2DINV software. In order to produce slope failure, physical soil properties and slope failure inventory data has been recorded. All slope failures in the study area has been classified as medium scale and there are two large-scale caused by downslope movement of weathered rock and soil. The result has been determined from this study and can be used for future engineers as reference to reduce the number of slope failures in the road of KESEDAR Renok. 3D resistivity survey is suggested because the result more accurate and easy.
