In this research, Radon Sentinel 1030 model was used in this study to determine the concentration of Rn-222 to the different paint in building prototype in lab Universiti Malaysia Kelantan. Radon (Rn-222) is the non-solid element and colorless, tasteless gas found in soil. Rn-222 can enter the inside of a building in different ways, i.e. the soil. Rn-222 is typically measured in picocuries per liter (pCi/L) of air. A curie is a unit of measurement used to describe radioactive decay a picocurie is one trillion of a curie. This study was made to assess the reduction of Rn-222 concentrations against interlocking brick each other using two different types of coating. In this research, a prototype has been used to look at the concentration of Rn-222 to emmited from each other brick with a prototype measuring 40cm high x 40cm long x 40cm wide. In this study, the concentration of Rn-222 has been measured in prototype room at Material Technology laboratory at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan using continuous radon monitor. This study focuses on the type of paint used and each layer of paint has been applied to each brick. Each brick was coated with a layer of a mixture of cement, sand and water with a thickness of approximately 1cm. According to the conducted research, the concentration of interlocking brick before coated with coating materials is in between 0.2pCi/L to 1.6pCi/L.
