Lithology in the study area consists of igneous and metamorphic rocks. Metamorphism of rock associated with increasing of pressure and temperature which altered the chemical and mineral of rocks. In the study area there are metamorphic rocks such mica schist, garnet schist and gneiss that formed from different distribution of pressure and temperature. The mineral index studied in the different metamorphic rock indicated the distribution of pressure and temperature. After mapping is conducted, the thin section was prepared to study the characteristics of the rocks. From the observation under petrographic microscope, index mineral found in the mica schist is biotite. Thus that clarified that rock is in biotite zone in greenschist facies. Meanwhile, the garnet schist composed of garnet as the index mineral clarify the rock under garnet zone in greenschist facies. Besides, the gneiss is classified under granulite facies as it composed of olivine, hornblende, chlorite, quartz, and albite. From the mineral assemblages, it can be conclude that the metamorphic rocks under greenschist facies formed tmder temperature of 300-450°C with pressure about 2-9.5 kbar and depth of 8-33 km. The protolith is the pelithic sediments that undergone regional metamorphism. Meanwhile the metamorphic rock that formed under granulite facies formed under temperature of 700-900°C. The pressure ranges 2-13 kbar and the depth approximately 8-44 km. The protolith of the rock is from the igneous rock or associated with magmatite and granite. This rock sample formed from high grade regional metamorphism.
