The study area is situated at Jeli Hot Spring area, which is about 20 kilometres from Jeli town passing through East-West highway. Geologically, the area is consists of one type of lithology only which is igneous rock like granites and micro-granites. The research began with the interpretation of aerial photographs to analyze the lineament structure of Jeli Hot Spring area and is followed by geological mapping that had been conducted within 51km X 5km = 25km² area. During geological mapping, rock types or lithology, geomorphology, geohazards, weathering, topography and watershed within the area can be recognized. Analysis of lineament interpretations results that the study area is dominant to North-West and South-East directions. At Jeli Hot Spring area, the major geological structures which represented by the area is joints. Dip and plunge of the joints can be measured by using compass to know its orientations at any stations. Geomorphologically, the area is covered with hilly areas, plain areas and rivers. Joints can be found in almost all types of rocks. There are seven sets of joints found within the study area but they are not as sturdy as the main structures in telling tectonic deformation as joints can be formed by the addition of tectonic deformation. As a conclusion, the geological structure of the study area is composite and had undergone great tectonic deformation. The major orientation of Jeli Hot Spring is in the direction of NNW and SSE, which is the same as the orientation of the lineament features in the study area.
