This paper attempts to studies the geology of Panggong Lalat, Gua Musang and biological marker distribution in petroleum crude oil from field 1. The location of the crude oil sample is confidential because it is bound to strict regulation by the company who supplied to the researcher. Therefore, the name of the field from where it is taken from will not be stated and remains as Field 1. These two studies designed to produce map of Panggong Lalat, to investigate the distribution of biomarker of petroleum crude oil from field 1 and to characterize biomarker contain in petroleum crude oil from field 1. Geomorphology, petrography, stratigraphy, structural geology and historical geology have been investigated in general geology through geological mapping. While Biomarker in crude oil from field 1, was analyzed using Open column chromatography and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). This research focused on saturated fractions analysis. 3 ion were selected; m/z 191 (hopane), m/z 217 (sterane) and m/z 85 (n- alkane).each biomarkers have been identified and characterize through chromatogram of each selected ions. In ion m/z chromatogram, n- alkanes and isoprenoid groups being identified. Hopanes groups; tricyclic, Ts, Tm, C28αβ, C28βα, C29αβ, C29βα, oleanane, C30αβ, C30βα, C31αβ,gammacerane, C32 αβ and C33αβ. were identified in crude oil sample. While Steranes biomarker consist of C₂₇, C₂₈, C₂₉ and C₃₀. Predominance of C₂₈,, C₂₉ and C₃₀. steranes indicate an origin of the oils derived mainly from mixed terrestrial and marine organic sources, while oils show slightly low abundance of C28 and C29 and relatively higher concentrations of C27 steranes indicate more input of marine organic source.
