The current distribution of Mimosa pigra L. as an invasive species was studied in order to determine the area covered by the plants after the flood in the year 2014. The study was located along the river basin of Kelantan state and focused in Kota Bharu, Tanah Merah and Dabong districts. Field data collection and image processing were utilized in this study. Based on image classification of Tandsat TM in 2014 and 2015 using supervised classification, land occupied by less vegetation classes decreased in 2015 compared to 2014. Ground verification was carried out to assess the accuracy of the classification which involved a total of 30 random sample points as indicator. The estimation of the percentage of Mimosa pigra L. was calculated based on ten sample areas taken from each site (Kota Bharu, Tanah Merah and Dabong). Based from the ground truthing data, confusion matrix calculation was used in calculating the accuracy of the classified image. Results showed that the distribution of Mimosa pigra L. in the year 2015 decreases compared from the year 2014.
