Leucaena species are leguminous plants native to Mexico. Leucaena leucocephala is secondary wood that is important to produce many kinds of products and renewable energy. Thus, studying its growth perfonnanee and aboveground biomass is very important. In order to fulfil the demand of renewable energy and wood-based products, it is crucial to plant Leucaena leucocephala. The objectives of this study were to investigate the growth performance of Leucaena leucocephala on two different soil types which are loam and BRIS soil and to estimate the aboveground biomass of Leucaena leucocephala. Using two different soil types, the growth performance and aboveground biomass estimation of Leucaena leucocephala were identified. Loam soil was rich in nutrients while BRIS soil was lack of nutrients. 30 Leucaena leucocephala seeds were planted in each soil type. The reading of seedlings height was taken every two days. The data obtained showed the seedlings in loam soil produced the tallest seedlings which is 30.7 cm. However, the average height of seedlings in BRIS soil is greater which was 21.5 cm as compared to than 17.5 in loam soil. Loam soil has been proven to produce seedlings with a taller height. Based the result obtained, the mature phase of L. leucocephala can be predicted. So that it can produce various products including furnitures and other wood-based products. Biomass energy from L. leucocephala can also be calculated to fulfil the demand of current and fixture need.
