According to Prof. Dr Yusuf Al-Qardawi and Dr. Hussien Shahatah, pay zakat and income termed Mustafad Zakat al-Mal is sourced from zakat salary and professional income. It is reward of service with an employer or an individual or institution. Income will include salary, arrears of pay, various allowances (car, meals, meetings), income and others including bonus or something that can be counted as income such as royalties, rent and others. In Malaysia, the National Fatwa Council has decreed that it is compulsory upon the Muslims in Malaysia to pay the zakat on incomes. This study attempts to evaluate the awareness of zakat income in Kota Bharu, Kelantan and it further identities the factors influencing their awareness. Objective of this research is to study the relationship between the awareness of zakat income and education factors, juristic issues and behavior factors. The premier data are gathered and utilized for this study. In order to analyse data, 100 questionnaire were distributes among the respondent who are the workers either in the government sectors, private sector or others. The data was analysed by using statistical package (SPSS) and the result shows that result shows that the awareness of paying the zakat on income is influenced by education factors, juristic issues and behavioral factors.
