Abstract

This research was done with the main purpose to determine the perception of smallholders in Kelantan and Terengganu towards the environmental practices in oil palm plantation. This study was reviewed two main aspects which are perception and acceptance level of smallholders in implementation of environmental friendly in their
plantation. A survey method by using questionnaires form was used to collect the data from the participated respondents. The questionnaire form was developed based on the journals and book review that related to the environmental practices in oil palm plantation. Besides that, another method also had been used in order to get the information which is ‘face to face’ interview with the older smallholders to help them to answer all the questions provided. About 73 respondents were involved in this research whether by answering all the sets of questionnaires or giving the information during the interview sessions. All the collected data were analysed using SPSS version 21.0. Methods that were involved are Statistical Descriptive, Factorial Analysis, One- way ANOVA and also Non-parametric Test. This analysis resulted that the smallholders in Terengganu and Kelantan did accepted and have a good perception towards the environmental practices in oil palm plantation.
