Abstract

The study is about minimum wages in Malaysia. Minimum wages is the basic or lowest daily or monthly remuneration that employers may legally pay to workers. The minimum wages order in Malaysia has been truly implement on 2014. Wages is the crucial issues the employment. To find the effect of the minimum wages, we will do a study about the minimum wages. The study will investigating the impact of minimum wages towards employee's job satisfaction, job performance and job commitment. The study will focus on Small Medium Enterprise employee in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Kelantan is one of state in Malaysia that have the most number of SMEs in Malaysia.The study will involve three sectors of SMEs that agriculture, manufacturing and services. To achieve objectives of this research, research question and three hypotheses are developed and tested. The method that used in this research is design method where have 94 sample questionnaires distributed to sector of Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs) that selected in Kota Bharu. Through the research that conducting, the finding of the study indicated that the minimum wage has relationship with job satisfaction but weak. It showed that have others factors that impact to job satisfaction of employees SMEs not just minimum wage only. Furthermore, the result of the study indicated the minimum wage have strong relationship between job performance and job commitment. It showed that minimum wage that implemented impacted employees of job performance and job commitment in SMEs organization.
