Abstract

A field experiment on effect of soil mix system to the production of Brassica Oleracea Van.botrytis cv.F1 hybrid 882 and cv.F1 hybrid 307 grown using fertigation system under netted rain shelter was carried out. This experiment is conducted at the Agropark, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Jeli campus. Fertilizer application (1.5 to 1.6) and 7 minutes water drip every 2 hours when plant exceed 4 weeks. Both cauliflower cultivar was planted using mixture of coco peat and paddy husk or known as soilmix system which replaced soil. The growth parameter of Brassica oleraceae var. Botrytis L. cv F1 Hybrid 882 and cv.F1 Hybrid 307 was taken. The plant height, number of leaves and diameter of leaves were recorded at week 2 until week 10 while fresh weight of cauliflower curd were taken on week 10. Results showed significant differences in plant characters. Brassica oleraceae var. Botrytis L. cv. F1 hybrid 882 had better performance and high quality of growth performance compared to Brassica oleraceae var. Botrytis L. cv. F1 Hybrid 307.
