Abstract

Rockmelon is belongs to one of Cucurbitaceae family. lt is widely cultivated for commercialization purposes. Rockmelon cv. Glamour was selected to be studied in two different treatments which were using foliar as adiitional fertilizer and without using foliar as additional fertilizer in soil mix system under netted rain shelter. Foliar fertilization or foliar feeding is the application of fertilizer via spraying the nutrients to plant leaves and stems. Quelent K is one of the products with a high concentration of potassium and amino acids from enzymatic hydrolysis. Potassium will improve the fruit quality such as more intense fruit colour, higher sugar content and bigger fruit size. Growth parameter such as plant height, number of leaves, number of female flowers and yield parameter such as fruit weight, fruit diameter, thickness of mesocarp, fruit perimeter and brix level of fruit were evaluated. As a conclusion, it can be concluded that rockmelon plants with foliar as an additional application of fertilizer had better performance compared to rockmelon plants without foliar as an additional application of fertilizer.
