Study on the awareness of smallholders in east coast Peninsular Malaysia on basal stem rot disease in oil palm plantation

This research was done with the objective to review the level awareness of oil palm smallholders toward basal stem rot disease. Besides, to determine the knowledge of oil palm smallholders toward basal stem rot disease. A face to face interview with respondents was conducted for the data collection. A survey method using questionnaire form was used to collect the data from the respondent. The questionnaire form was developed based on the “KAP model”. Data collection was conducted at three states of east coast states, Kelantan, Pahang and Terengganu. A total of 84 respondents responded to the questionnaire. From the test, it was discovered that the respondents were having average level of knowledge and awareness toward basal stem rot.
