Abstract

The oil pam industry is one of the important sector contributes in Malaysia economy that is resilient to the global economic changes. NKEA is focuses to agriculture
industry transformation where, one of the agenda is encourage the cattle integration in oil palm in large scale (NKEA 2013). ln Malaysia, 5.23 million hectares of land is used for oil palm plantation at present (MPOB 2013). With that availability of land area, the forages existing under the oil palm plantation can become cost free cattle feed. The cattle give benefits to the industry by contributes to soil fertility, minimise the weed population and thus, can reduce the labour cost associated with weeding. The cattle integration system also is very encouraging and profitable and the practice
is highly recommended for oil palm owner. This study objectives is to determine the participation of smallholder scheme on perception, repulsion and inclination factors in the implementation of cattle integration project with oil palm. A survey method through self-completion questionnaire was used in collecting the required data from the 69 respondents among the smallholder scheme throughout the Malaysia east-coast in participation level in cattle integration project with oil palm by using descriptive and inferential statistic. This study can conclude that the government to plan the strategy in encourage and promoting the cattle integration project among the smallholder scheme.
