Abstract

This thesis presents an approach about the broiler’s industry in Kelantan. The rapid growth of broiler sector in this country and its ability to meet level of self
sufficiency is associated with the technological progress in animal husbandry, nutrition, chicken breed, and the floor space. The goal of the present paper is to investigate the efficiency of broiler production in Kelantan. The data for this study were obtained through the help of Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) Kelantan and all broilers farm producer here. The samples were selected from the data given by the Department of
Veterinary Services. Thirty seven out of fifty one fanns were selected for this investigation. By using local data, this study was designed to investigate the efficiency of the selected thirty seven broilers farms. The response rate was really good. The parameter that has been used in the survey was the stocking density, or mostly known as the floor space area. The next thing was the length of a cycle that was practiced by the all operating farm in Kelantan. The total numbers of cycles per year were also identified. Then the system that the broilers chicken production farms were currently used. It was also investigated whether the farms used the conventional way of broilers fanning known as open system or the much modem way of broilers fanning known as closed system.
