Abstract

This study area for General Geology of Kg Kalai is located at Kg. Kalai 05°4810.0"N 101°41'30.0"E, 05°4810.0"N 101°47'30.0"E, 05°40'15.0"N 101°41'0.0"E and 05°40'15.0"N 101°47'30.0"E. The coordinate given covered for 5 kilometer by 5 kilometer (5km x 5km). Specification for this thesis was was done to produce potential gold occurrence map of south Jeli. Objectives for this study area are to update geological map to 1:25000 scale, to identify the geomorphology parameter related to gold occurrence and to produce the potential gold occurrence map of South Jeli based on the geomorphological characteristic. Method used in this project including mapping, lab work and GIS software. Mapping will cover for sampling and those samples will be collected for further study in the laboratory for thin section interpretation. The samples are going to collect from the available outcrop. Thin section is a 30 p.m (= 0.03 mm) thick slice of rock attached to a glass slide with epoxy. Lithology of south Jeli involves limestone, marble, phyllite and sandstone. GIS spatial analysis will be used will involve reclassification and union based on fault, mineral distribution, lithology, rock age and river as parameters.
