Abstract

This study focused on the geological mapping and sedimentology of area Gua Tahi
Bintang, Merapoh, Pahang. Facies analysis shows that the area was prehistorically a
marine environment area where limestone often occur and tidal currents resulting in
formation of argillaceous limestone to be formed Climate change that control weathering
and erosional process. Gua Tahi Bintang is coated with massive limestone but the study
also had found the existence of other silliciciastic sedimentary rocks such as sandstone that indicates past environment of the area is reef where the limestone is mixed up with the silhiclastic rocks. The study of the area is about the study of petrography of lithology of study area, fades identification of study area and geological map update. The result of the study has been obtained and the depositional environment of the study area is reefal deposition environment.
