Abstract

This slope failure study has contributed to local engineering studies regarding the slope failure that occurred at KESEDAR Renok, Gua Musang road which located in Kelantan. Generally, this area consists of 100,400 people. The main socioeconomic of this area is agriculture such as palm oil and rubber. The study area was categorized as hilly to mountainous with primarily composed of shale and mudstone lithology. Some geological structure such as major fault, joint and cracks had been identified in the study area In order to produce slope stability assessment, the physical properties of soil data and slope failure inventory had been recorded. The soil physical data experiments including Atterberg limit test, hydrometer analysis test and sieving analysis test had divided the 18 soil samples into clayey soil and clayey gravel and sand. All the slope failure in the study area classified as medium scale with indicated by the downslope movement of weathered rocks and soil. The results that have been determined from this study can be made as reference for engineers in order to improve the slope stability of along KESEDAR Renok road or any other slope in the future.
