Abstract

Geological map is a map showing the distribution of rock unit and structure across a region, usually on a plane surface. The study of geological at Kuala Balah with scale of 1:25,000 is a ratio scale which can give a detailed geologic map with excellent source of information for making site-specification decision about the sub-division of the study area. The study involved survey traverse, geological field mapping for sampling, field data analysis, laboratory analysis for petrography study and update the current geological map. The generated general geological map of Kuala Balah consists of information about lithology, stratigraphy and structural geology. River geomorphology research is conducted at Kuala Balah as to observe two main river, Sungai Pergau and Sungai Balah. The research included the channel pattern of river and stages of erosion occur at Sungai Pergau and Sungai Balah at Kuala Balah. The result shows Sungai Pergau undergo widening stage and Sungai Balah undergoes deposition process.
