Abstract

Groundwater is withdrawn for agricultural, municipal, and industrial use by constructing and operating extraction wells. Chemistry of groundwater is an important factor determining its use. The study are for this research lies between latitude from 5° 39' 1.5" N to 50 41'49.5" N and longitude 101° 49' 44.25" E to 101° 52' 40 5" E at Jeli. This research is intended to produce an updated geological map and analyses groundwater using geochemical technique in and around Kampung Berdang Jeli, Kelantan. The objective for this research is to analyses the physical and chemical parameter of groundwater. The method for interpretation of the data is by using piper trilinear and Langeliar & ludwiq diagram to classify the groundwater type. Other than that, field work and laboratory analyses also are done to gained primary data. In addition the detailed mapping has been done in the study and studied is gneiss and granite that rich with biotite mineral. In study area using piper trilinear and Langeliar & ludwiq diagram the groundwater can be classified in CaHCO₃ type and Na-K-C1-SO₄ type. This presents gives the advantage to the resident to take a precaution to avoid the problem of health and do continues monitoring groundwater well.
