Abstract

Landslides are closely related with slope stability. If the slope not stable, the landslide easy to happen. In Malaysia, landslides are the most destructive disaster besides flood. The occurences mainly were in the highland areas such as Hulu Kelang, Cameron Highlands and Genting Highlands. While in Kelantan the cases are much fewer than in Kuala Lumpur. There are many reasons for landslides to happen which are intense rainfall, structural control by joints, faults and bedding planes. The modes of failure that happened in the study area are topple, planar, wedge and gully. The material strength of the selected slopes has been tested by using schidmt hammer. But, not every slope can be tested with schidmt hammer because of the soft material. The map of study area which is located in Kampung Sungai Terah, Gua Musang has been re-evaluated by using arcGIS.
