Abstract

Geology is one of the fields that are very important to human kind because geology is learning about the phenomena that occur around us. One of the branches of geology is Paleontology. Paleontology is the study of the past based on the fossil found at the sedimentary rock. The fossil that is usually used for the references of the past is ammonoid and bivalvia from phylum Mollusca. They used to be an index fossil based on their wide in distribution and also short life span. With the previous study and also the information of the fossils from the researcher make the research able to handle at the study area which is at Aring, Gua Musang District, Kelantan. Most of the fossil found at the study area is from phylum Mollusca which is bivalvia and ammonoid from the age of Middle Triassic. This study is about to identified the fossil that abundance at the study area and find their paleoenvironment based on the fossil found. The species found was named based on the comparison with the fossil of the previous study and the fossil abundance was calculated based on the species found.
