Abstract

The area of study is located in Kemahang, Tanah Merah Kelantan. Focusing on granitic body in Kemahang which is known as Kemahang Granite. It is well known as one of the biggest granitic body in Malaysia, Eastern belt Granitic body to be exact. This granitic body has a contact with a well known metamorphic rock in Malaysia, that is Taku Schist. Both of this lithologies are abundant in the study area of this research. The main objective of this research is to come out with an updated geological map of the study area and to run a geochemistry analysis and interpretation upon Kemahang Granite. To fulfill this objectives, several methods are used such as field work, thin section of rock, XRD method and XRF method. The results showed that the granite in Kemahang study area have a high content of K-Feldspar, Quartz, Biotite and other associating minerals. This conclude that the Kemahang Granite is from an acidic type of composition.
