The study area located between latitude 05° 42' 49" to 05° 45' 31" and longitude 101° 50' 31.62" to 101° 53' 14" which is part of Jell District, Kelantan. Most of the area are hilly and covered by forests. Geologically, the area covered by igneous rock which is belong to Kemahang Granite. The granite divided into three types which are microgranite, medium — grained biotite granite and coarse — grained granite. The objectives of this research are to produce updated geological map of the study area and to determine depth of groundwater circulation using silica geothermometry. For the present study, several methods are used such as geological mapping, thin sectioning and silica geothermometry. The depth of groundwater circulation is around 80 to 200m which indicates shallow aquifer in the study area. Concentration of Silica versus Chloride and Silica versus Total Dissolved Solids showed the water samples are influent by the river water and are from anthropogenic sources. All samples are permissible for drinking purpose for the major cations while for major anions, Sample 6 is not permissible for drinking purpose as Nitrate concentration exceed the permissible limit.
