Abstract

This study presents the effect of feeding Urea Molasses Multi-Nutrient Block (UMMB) on growth, body condition score and feed intake on growing Kedah Kelantan cattle. In this study, the 4 cattle were divided into two groups and having two different dietary treatment which are presence of UMMB in the first group and absence of UMMB in the other. The body weight gain calculated in kilogram (kg), the body condition score based on scale (1-9) and the feed intake calculated in minute. For statistical analysis, paired t test using SPSS 16.0 were performed. The study involved feeding UMMB to calves over 30 days of experiment. Analysis of t test showed that the body weight gain differed significantly higher (P<0.01) in group A while insignificant (P>0.05) in group B at 30th day but insignificant (P>0.05) at 15''' day. At the same time body condition score was insignificant difference (P>0.05) in both group. Meanwhile, the feed intake rate have no significant (P>0.05) in both groups. This study should be continued with a larger population of animal and with different feeding regimes.
