Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the amount of broilers that is transported using Lorries into the east coast via Jeli district. Estimation of the number of broilers passing through Jeli was done by extrapolating the number of Lorries used for the transportation. Survey on the importation of live broilers was also conducted to understand the potential business associated with broilers. It is estimated that an average of ± 32-33 Lorries carrying an estimated ± 48,000 live broilers into east coast via Jeli district daily. This estimation indicator that demand in east coast is high for live broilers.
